Not if Boston’s Curt Schilling had his way… In fact, on Schilling’s blog he figures that Roger Clemens should forfeit the four Cy Young Awards that Clemens won after 1997 or they “should go to the rightful winners and the numbers should go away if he cannot refute the accusations.”
Roger Clemens has won 67 games for the New York Yankees during the time in which he is accused of taking steroids. Since the release of the Mitchell Report Clemens has hired a lawyer in an attempt to prove his innocence. If, however, he is proven guilty then you have to wonder if he should ever suit up again…?

There’s been a lot of baseball buzz around the water cooler lately following last week’s curve ball…AKA “The Mitchell Report“. But when I first heard about it one of the questions I had was, “What the heck is that all about?” And, “Who is Mitchell?” So here’s the scoop, courtesy of Wikipedia.org:
The Report to the Commissioner of Baseball of an Independent Investigation into the Illegal Use of Steroids and Other Performance Enhancing Substances by Players in Major League Baseball, also known as the “Mitchell Report”, is the result of former United States Senator George J. Mitchell’s investigation into the use of anabolic steroids and human growth hormone in Major League Baseball (MLB). The 409-page report, released on December 13, 2007, covers the history of the use of illegal performance-enhancing substances by players and the effectiveness of the MLB drug testing program. Mitchell also advances certain recommendations regarding the handling of past illegal drug use and future prevention practices. The report names 88 Major League Baseball players who are alleged to have used steroids or drugs.

It’s only been on the shelves for a day but the latest issue of Sports Illustrated is flying off the shelves in newsstands across the country. No, it’s not the new Swimsuit Issue that’s got everyone’s attention; it seems Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre is causing quite a stir as the popular magazine’s “Sportsman of the Year”.
The winningest quarterback of all time and the NFL’s leader in touchdown passes, Brett Favre has started in 249 consecutive games, the longest streak ever by an NFL quarterback. Favre also shattered Dan Marino’s career records for touchdown passes and pass attempts, and with 60,912 passing yards Favre should easily surpass Marino’s career record of 61,361 passing yards.
According to a press release, Favre is expected to receive the Sportsman of the Year award, a sterling silver trophy crafted by Tiffany & Co., at a party in his honor in New York City tonight.
“Brett is a great winner, but this award recognizes much more than winning,” said SI Group Editor Terry McDonell. “It recognizes performance off the field equally and celebrates the love of the game. Brett is having an astounding year on every level.”
That’s great news for Packers fans. But what are the odds on the Green Bay Packers to win the Super Bowl this year? 12/1.
