Following yesterday’s rally to win the first round, the odds on Tiger Woods to win the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship are now 7/4.
It was another ace comeback from crowd favorite Tiger Woods Wednesday as he turned his game around during the final five holes to win the first round 1 up on J.B. Holmes. After having to take two penalty shots and being three holes down, Woods pulled out from behind Holmes by winning four straight holes. If you missed his 35-foot eagle putt on the 17th you can catch the footage here. And here’s a rundown on Tiger Woods’ past performances & rivals at WGC-Accenture.)
“I just kept telling myself, even when I was 3 down, there’s still a chance to win in regulation,” Woods said. “I was just going to have to start playing a hell of a lot better. Then all of a sudden, putts started falling in from everywhere.”

Looking for more football action? Look no further. The NFL Pro Bowl game kicks off this Sunday!
The NFL’s version of the all-star game, the Pro Bowl, is played annually at the end of the season — following the Super Bowl. Although officially called the AFC-NFC Pro Bowl (pitting players in the American Football Conference against players from the National Football Conference) the event takes place every winter at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii (since January 1980).
The bad news for New England Patriots fans (who are still healing from last weekend’s Super Bowl loss to the New York Giants), is that QB Tom Brady has decided to pass on the free trip to Hawaii. Ah well…the show must go on. For many it will be a nice change of scenery and a great opportunity for adversaries to play as teammates.
Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning and Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger will lead the AFC offense with rushers Fred Taylor of Jacksonville and Joseph Addai and receiver Chad Johnson of Cinncinnati. For the NFC, Dallas quarterback Tony Romo and Seattle’s Matt Hasselback will lead rushers Adrian Peterson of Minnesota, Marion Barber of Dallas, along with receiver Terrell Owens.
Betting on Sunday’s Pro Bowl game? Keep in mind the AFC has a 19-18 edge over the NFC.

Does Eli Manning’s girlfriend look anything like Tom Brady’s girlfriend, Gisele Bundchen?
Forget for a second that the New England Patriots have not lost a game all season, consider instead this interesting fact: during the regular season the Patriots set an NFL record by outscoring their opponents by 19.7 points per game. And you can forget about Tom Brady’s so-called ankle injury that everyone’s been going on about. He’s been practicing just fine, thank you very much. But I would like to remind you of some very important facts about the Patriots star quarterback. He’s also got:
- NFL record for most consecutive wins in post season: 10 (broke record of Green Bay’s Bart Starr).
- Most consecutive post season wins (college and professional combined): 12
- 3 Super Bowl victories
- 2 Super Bowl MVP awards
- Most completions in a Super Bowl (32 in Super Bowl XXXVIII)
- Highest completion percentage in a single game, minimum 20 attempts (26 of 28, 92.9%, against Jacksonville in 2007 AFC Divisional round)
- “Sportsman of the Year” by The Sporting News for the second time in his career.
- Named the NFL MVP, as well as Male Athlete of the Year by the Associated Press, the first time he has received that honor, and the first time an NFL player has been honored since Joe Montana won in 1990.
- Gisele Bundchen, the Brazilian super model.
The New England Patriots are favored to win the 2008 Super Bowl by at least 11.5 points. If this game is going to be the big blowout that everyone is saying, then betting on the Pats is a smart move.
